FS2002 L1011-500 British Airways (Landor) by David Brightwell.

This aircraft, G-BLUT, c/n 1236, was purchased from Lockheed by Air Lanka but was leased to British Airways in 1985 for three years. It then returned to Air Lanka (who had named it "City of Kandy", and was retired in 2000 and put into storage. It was rescued from certain death by Air Transat of Canada, for whom it now continues to fly.

British Airways TriStars were mostly of the L1011-1 and L1011-200 variety, but the L1011-500 was also used in small numbers. The -500 had a shorter fuselage and smaller passenger load, but a longer range than its cousins. BA gave names to all its aircraft, and the TriStars were generally named after Bays found along the British coastline. I do not know what name BA gave to G-BLUT, so I have called it "Oriental Bay". I used to work at sea as a Navigating Officer, and my favourite ship was the "Oriental Bay". If you know the correct name of G-BLUT, please let me know by writing to swiftlet2001@yahoo.co.uk, and I will upload a fix and credit you in the readme!

This is my first repaint, so go easy on the criticism! The aircraft has reflective textures, so if you already have Mike Stone's earlier, non-reflective model in your hangar, don't run these textures on it - use the model included in this download.

Many thanks to Mike Stone for the model, and to Bill Gates for the flight simulator.

Installation
------------

Once you have unzipped the download to a temporary folder, just copy or move the whole "BA L1011" folder to:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\aircraft

That's it!

Start FS2002, and you will find the aircraft under "Lockheed/L1011/British Airways (Landor Colours)".

The aircraft is supplied with default 737 panel and sound. For maximum enjoyment, please install a proper L1011 panel and sound pack of your choice.

My Conditions of use
